Why we love Feed More
Feed More collects, prepares and distributes over 20 million meals to neighbors in need across 34 cities and counties in Central Virginia. Through comprehensive programs and a network of nearly 300 agencies, Feed More helps ensure our communities have access to healthy meals year round. Feed More is a proud member of Feeding America and Meals on Wheels America.

How Feed More works
COLLECT
Feed More’s Food Bank Distribution Center is the heart of their hunger-relief efforts. Their 36,000 sf warehouse serves as the collection point for the donations. Annually, close to 30 million pounds of grocery product moves through the Distribution Center and then goes out to neighbors who struggle with hunger across Feed More’s service area.
PREPARE
Feed More prepares food for distribution in many forms. In the Sara and Steve Bayard Community Kitchen, a team of staff and dedicated volunteers prepare, cook and package made-from-scratch meals for thousands of neighbors in Central Virginia. The Packing Center is where volunteers package up diet-specific food for Central Virginians who aren’t receiving the necessary nutrition. Nonperishable donations are also sorted here for distribution to their Agency Network and shelf-stable meals and snacks are packaged for their community partners.
DISTRIBUTE
Feed More distributes food through programs and a Network of Agencies. Programs like the Kids Cafe, Meals on Wheels, and the Mobile Pantry allow food to be distributed throughout 34 counties and cities. Feed More’s Agency Network is comprised of food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters and other nonprofits. These community-centric organizations help ensure the food Feed More collects and prepares is distributed to the neighbors in their communities.
